Pezeshkian says Iran backs Palestinian Gaza decisions

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Wednesday that Tehran would support any initiative or decision by Palestinian leaders in ongoing indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, Iranian state media reported.
Pezeshkian made the pledge in a phone call with Khalil al-Hayya, identified as the head of Hamas' political bureau, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The article also cited an Axios report from Friday saying officials from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps urged Hamas delegation members not to sign the BoP disarmament deal.
Axios reported that Hamas representatives met IRGC officials during a recent visit to Iran for the funeral of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei. A senior US official claimed Iran tried to persuade Hamas not to sign the deal, but Hamas chose not to listen.
Senior White House Board of Peace officials told The Jerusalem Post: "Hamas had a lot of concerns. It took months of delicate negotiations to bring us to this breakthrough, and we will move in the coming weeks to advance its implementation."
