US President Donald Trump is meeting today with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, shortly before the two leaders join a slew of other high-profile figures attending the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral in Washington, D.C.
Trump and Netanyahu are meeting around 11 a.m. at the White House. Their meeting will take place after Trump similarly holds court with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is also in D.C. for Graham’s funeral.
Updated after the meeting:
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt used that description of the meeting, according to JNS. A senior source who accompanied Netanyahu to the White House called it “an extremely positive meeting.”
“The prime minister and president held an excellent and comprehensive discussion on the key issues of the day, first and foremost Iran,” the senior source said. “The leaders reaffirmed their ironclad commitment to ensuring that Iran never has nuclear weapons.”
The discussion lasted about an hour and did not include questions from the press, which JNS said had been a common feature of the past seven meetings between the two leaders in Trump’s second term. The two sides had not issued a formal readout at the time of publication.
Trump and Netanyahu were due to attend the funeral of former senator Lindsey Graham after the meeting. Photos released by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office showed Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Steve Witkoff, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter and Caroline Glick in the Oval Office with the two leaders.
