The Israeli army has ordered a criminal investigation into the killing of six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab in Gaza, BBC News reported, after a review of the incident.
The Israel Defense Forces said the decision came "following a review of the findings" and "due to alleged failures in the coordination of the movement of the Palestine Red Crescent ambulance". The investigation will be conducted by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division.
Hind Rajab was one of seven family members who were in a car that came under suspected Israeli fire in Gaza City. She initially survived the attack, but several of her family members were killed.
The girl's body was found days later, along with her relatives and two paramedics who had tried to save her in an ambulance. Her death drew international condemnation after a recording of her conversation with paramedics was released around the world.
