Venezuela oil exports to US top 100 million barrels
The rebound puts bilateral energy trade at its highest level since 2019 sanctions and has made Venezuela the second-largest crude supplier to the U.S. market.

Venezuela’s oil exports to the United States reached 107.4 million barrels so far in 2026, TalCual reported, citing preliminary U.S. Energy Information Administration figures.
The accumulated volume through the week of September 4 was 110% higher than all crude shipped during 2025. The rebound followed the flexibilization of operating licenses that began in January, placing bilateral energy trade at its highest level since sanctions were imposed in 2019.
For the week ending September 4, Venezuelan shipments to U.S. customers averaged 599,000 barrels per day, the same level recorded in the previous seven days. During the first 35 weeks of the year, shipments averaged 437,000 bpd, a 216% increase from the same period in 2025.
The four-week moving average stood at 647,000 bpd, down 5% from the previous week. Venezuela also completed 20 consecutive weeks as the second-largest supplier of crude oil to the United States.
Venezuela surpassed Saudi Arabia in supply to the U.S. market amid logistical difficulties faced by the kingdom in moving production because of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The report cited Banca y Negocios for part of the information.
