Elon Musk Will Once Again Support Trump Ahead of the Midterm Elections

Elon Musk is reviving his dormant super PAC, America PAC, for a large Republican turnout effort in the 2026 US midterm elections, Axios reported.

America PAC, which spent more than $260 million to help elect President Donald Trump in 2024, will focus on door-knocking, digital advertising and direct mail, Axios reported, citing sources with knowledge of the plans. The effort aims to turn out the conservative base, including voters less likely to vote in a non-presidential election year.

Musk's representatives declined to say how much he would spend, according to Axios, which reported that the amount is expected to be high given his 2024 donations. James Blair, Trump's senior political adviser, told Axios: "America PAC was an essential partner for our historic GOTV operation in 2024, and their return for 2026 is a huge boost for Republicans across the country."

Axios reported that Musk's spending would add to a Republican cash advantage as Trump's low approval ratings, especially on the economy and the Iran war, put GOP control of the House, and possibly the Senate, at risk in the Nov. 3 elections. The report said GOP super PACs and committees have a $300 million-plus advantage over Democratic counterparts, not including $400 million in Trump's MAGA Inc. super PAC.

Musk has been in talks with Trump's team about how he can help, and America PAC will coordinate with other Republican groups. Andrew Romeo, an America PAC spokesperson, told Axios that the president's political team and the GOP apparatus had built an operation to help Republicans retain control of Congress and said the PAC was "excited to again be part of the team."

The effort will be led by Musk's top political adviser, Chris Young, according to Axios. The report said Musk had a falling out with Trump after a four-month stint leading DOGE, later floated starting a third party, and resumed giving to Republicans by the end of 2025 as the relationship warmed somewhat.
