Using a Shrike FPV drone produced by the defense tech company SkyFall, Ukrainian forces have struck a Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter.
It became the first confirmed case in history of a helicopter being hit mid-air by an FPV drone.
This unique operation was carried out by operators from the “Rarog” SBS Brigade near the village of Vyazovoe in Russia’s Belgorod region.
The Mi-28 is a two-seat, twin-engine, modernized 24/7 operation, aerial reconnaissance and target designation, single-rotor Russian Army combat helicopter, developed on the basis of the Mi-28N (Mi-28UB).
United24 Media notes that the helicopter costs 19 million US dollars, while other media outlets report that the price of the military machine, depending on the helicopter's equipment, could be as high as 30–35 million US dollars.
