The death toll from Venezuela's earthquakes has risen to 4,734, with 16,740 injured, National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez said.
Authorities said 107 temporary camps have been opened in Caracas and other states, housing 20,903 refugees. The government said it had helped 128,324 families and treated 33,652 patients, although it did not provide further details on the number of people affected.
Since the twin quakes, the country has been hit by 1,275 aftershocks, the strongest of which was a magnitude 3.9 on July 10. Rodríguez said 25,000 homes were needed to help those who lost their homes, but acknowledged that the number could be higher.
