Jared Kushner has issued a stark ultimatum to Hamas, stating that if the terrorist group does not disarm, Israel will be forced to "finish the job" with the backing of the United States.
Speaking at a "Normalizing Israel" event, Kushner emphasized that the international community has failed to hold Hamas accountable for breaking the recent ceasefire, as reported by Fox News.
"If you can’t have the international community hold them accountable, then it’s very hard for Israel to be able to make a deal with them," Kushner stated. He interpreted President Biden’s decision to move an aircraft carrier to the region as a clear signal to Iran and other hostile actors, but also as a sign that if Israel must act decisively, it will have American support.
Kushner, a key architect of the Abraham Accords, contrasted the current situation with what might happen under a potential second Trump administration, suggesting that Israel would face fewer constraints. "I think that you would have a very different situation," he remarked, implying that President Trump would have given Israel a "much longer leash."
He argued that the world is at a critical juncture, facing a choice between a "new Middle East" built on cooperation, as envisioned by the Abraham Accords, and a devastating "holy war." Kushner criticized the long-standing international approach of linking all regional progress to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling it a "terrible strategy" that has only perpetuated instability.
According to Kushner, the Abraham Accords demonstrated that a different future is possible, where Arab nations are willing to normalize relations with Israel without a resolution to the Palestinian issue. He concluded that the current conflict is a decisive moment that will determine the future trajectory of the region.
