Police deport man from Estonia who stabbed two people in Hong Kong two days later

The man was detained and taken to a psychiatric hospital for treatment. The man is a 22-year-old man who was staying in Estonia with a loved one. He was here without a visa.

According to Indrek Aru, head of the Northern Prefecture Border Guard Bureau, migration officials assessed the incident to determine whether the man posed a threat that warranted his deportation. “We interviewed the man and gathered more information about his background and possible intentions. We came to the conclusion that the man must be deported from Estonia immediately because he poses a threat to public order,” Aru said.

The man was released from the hospital on August 8 and the police issued him with an order to leave the country, which was immediately enforceable. The police took the man directly to the airport and he left the Schengen area, where he is banned from entering for the next three years.
