The 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov of Ukraine’s National Guard said its Unmanned Systems Battalion struck a Russian transport convoy nearly 20 kilometers from the front line, Ukrinform reported on Tuesday.
“For Azov UAV operators, distance to the enemy is no obstacle. Nearly 20 kilometers from the front line, the Russians attempted to move their convoy, counting on a safe distance. They've made a mistake,” the brigade said, according to Ukrinform.
The brigade said operators from its unmanned systems battalion carried out the strike. “The Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov proves once again that the strike zone will extend even deeper into the enemy’s rear,” the military said, as quoted by Ukrinform.
Azov also called on Russian troops to leave Ukrainian territory, Ukrinform reported. The agency said it had previously reported that the 1st Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine and adjacent Defense Forces units repelled an offensive by two armies and a tank division of the Russian Armed Forces.
