Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 5,119

Almost a month after the double seismic event that shook the country on June 24, the number of fatalities in Venezuela has risen to 5,119 people, according to the latest official report issued by governmental authorities on July 18. This figure reflects an increase of 50 deaths compared to the previous day's balance of 5,069 fatalities. State seismologists have counted a total of 1,350 aftershocks since the main quake, with 19 new seismic movements detected in the last day, as reported by Runrun.es.
The government's report on July 18 details that the number of people sheltered in the 107 temporary camps increased to 21,470. Despite the rise in displaced individuals within the shelters, primarily located in Caracas, La Guaira, Miranda, and Aragua, the volume of food assistance remained unchanged for the second consecutive day, holding at 10,063 metric tons distributed. In contrast, the supply of potable water showed an increase, with a cumulative total of 32,854,150 liters dispatched to affected areas.
In the health sector, authorities indicated that the number of patients treated for conditions derived from the disaster rose to 38,292 people, representing 1,341 new patients assisted in the last 24 hours. Infrastructure and rescue data showed no structural variations: 190 collapsed buildings, 856 partially affected properties, and 17,907 families who lost their homes entirely. The number of injured stabilized at 16,740 people, while the number of rescued remained at 6,462.
The deployment of personnel on the ground continues without variations, with 2,278 international rescuers, 30,989 national officials, and 3,745 civilian volunteers.
