Taiwan Alleges Ex-TSMC Staff Stole Chip Secrets for China

Taiwanese prosecutors on Monday indicted a former TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) deputy manager for allegedly stealing trade secrets related to national core technologies.
The intent behind the alleged theft was to advance China's chip ambitions. This indictment marks the first under the National Security Act involving an attempt to further China's chip goals.
According to prosecutors, TSMC was able to recover sensitive technical documents that were reportedly copied without authorization.
