Raskin: Epstein Emails Suggest Foreign Government Lobbying

Emails from Jeffrey Epstein to world leaders suggest he should have registered as a foreign agent, according to House Judiciary Democrats. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) sent a letter to top Trump administration officials, stating that publicly released communications raise serious questions about the extent to which Epstein leveraged his ties to President Trump in dealings with foreign governments.

Raskin argues that Epstein acted to advance the interests of the governments of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, advised the government of Russia on how to shape its dealings with President Trump, and worked as an ongoing consultant for Ehud Barak, the former Prime Minister of Israel.

He also allegedly capitalized on his long-term friendship with President Donald Trump to secure business from these and other foreign governments and actors after Trump's first election, without ever registering as a foreign agent, as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

Epstein's foreign ties have long been scrutinized, with conspiracy theories suggesting he was a spy. Vice President Vance recently alluded to Epstein's potential connections to American and Israeli intelligence. Raskin's letter does not make such claims but asserts that even unpaid work would have necessitated FARA registration.
