Boris Johnson Claims Trump Could End Ukraine War by Pressuring Putin

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has claimed that Donald Trump could be the individual to compel Vladimir Putin to end his illegal war in Ukraine. This assertion comes over a year after the US president pledged to conclude the conflict within 24 hours, with the war now in its fifth year.

Johnson, a staunch supporter of Ukraine, told Sky News that, paradoxically, Trump could be the one to truly pressure Putin. He highlighted Trump's willingness to undertake "pretty tough things" in foreign policy initiatives, citing Trump's decision to join Israel in strikes against Iran.

While acknowledging that Trump's rhetoric on Ukraine's sovereignty has not always aligned with his own, Johnson believes Trump could "fix it." Johnson stated he has repeatedly conveyed this to Trump. He also emphasized the importance of the United States declaring Ukraine's freedom, sovereignty, and independence as a strategic objective, and that Ukraine should be part of NATO.
